Billie Whaley

Office Manager


Billie has been working since 1966.  Throughout this time, she has seen many changes in the work place.  She had 38 years of experience before she retired in 2004.  As a ‘Girl Friday’, she worked with 10-key calculators, typewriters, teletype (before the internet), switchboards, telex sales, inventory, A/P, A/R, banking, and bookkeeping by hand.  She worked at a manufacturing company as the Office Manager, supervising four people, for 10 of the 28 years that she worked there.  After two years of retirement, she decided she needed to keep busy.  She joined Lehne Construction, Inc. in 2006 as the Office Manager.  In addition to this duty, she also performs payroll, manages job folders, and keeps a daily account of equipment movement between jobs. 

Billie was a single mother of four.  Her hobbies are sewing, embroidery, gardening, yard work, crossword puzzles, baking, and making candy.
